The 7 Gateways in the Forceform all resonate with a different phase of the Force. The 7 Gateways represent various vibrational states of the Force as it exists both in and outside of our physical vessel. Each of these states play a part in the spiritual health and development of the Jedi Seeker. To neglect the development of any one of these Gates can lead to an imbalance in the student that can hamper their connection to the Force, and wreak havoc on their internal energy systems, if the imbalance is extreme. The maintenance of the Gateways is not a one-and-done practice. The Force is ever-flowing, and as such, the student must be mindful to strengthen and balance their Gateways regularly.
These mudras are designed to help the student focus on the attributes of one Gateway at a time, to aid in growth. The use of mudras comes from Buddhist practices, but can be found in many different paths of spiritual development, as well as many martial arts practices, most notably the study of ninjutsu. They offer a physical representation of the nature of each vibrational state, and as such, should not be approached flippantly.
Many will initially look at these as a retooling of chakra teachings, but that is not entirely true, as one will see as they delve further into the lessons. However, many similar visuals will be used, to aid in more effectively grasping the presented information. For example, the association to colors will be used. While a nod to the earlier material, the use of the colors stems from the nature of the frequency of light, and how it relates to the various vibration states of the Force. There are also certain audio frequencies and affirmations of understanding that resonate with the Gateways, which will be listed at the end of each lesson.
Because of the inherent differences, the Gateways will not be directly called or overly compared to typical chakra teachings. Those such teachings are not required of the student, but they can be helpful along our paths. As the Code says: there is no ignorance; there is knowledge. So, feel free to expand on your understanding of the Gateways through whatever sources you like.
